Step 1 – Make the Mower Safe

Reconnect the spark plug or battery, start the mower and engage the blades. The belt should run smoothly without excessive vibration, squealing or jumping off the pulleys.
If anything appears unusual, stop the mower immediately and recheck the belt routing.
